NATAS "LIFE AFTER DEATH"
1992

ALBUM NOTES: The 1st suicide thrill ride from the devilish crew known as Natas shatters all preconceived notions of what hardcore rap can be. The red foil cassette had the industry shook but it was the smashmouth, cryptic production that really takes the cake and provides the abrasive rhymes from Esham, TNT and Mastamind an aggressive and demented sound to flow to. As if it wasn't painfully obvious they didn't give a fuck about what anyone thought, Esham's sampling is all over the map hijacking riffs, loops, vocals and whatever the fuck else he could find no matter how obvious or obscure. Acid Rap in its most raw form and yes, more potent & funky than homemade devil in the moonshine bitch!

NATAS "BLAZ4ME"
1993

ALBUM NOTES: Funkdafied kill music and mitten murder raps hover over a more universal sound including some west coast flavor and heavy metal mash ups. A versatile release that highlights the Natas hardcore bravado without the shock and sheer horror from their debut, Life after Death. From experimental rap/rock live instrumentation on Boo Ya to hard knocking heaters like Fucking up the Program, Blaz4me proved that Natas was a lot more than just Satan spelled backwards.

NATAS "DOUBELIEVENGOD"
1995

ALBUM NOTES:    In the hardcore rap world, perhaps no album in existence can compare to the mind searing hatred and despair that permeates from Doubelievengod, the quintessential hard knock masterpiece of the Natas collection. This is the type of record that only happens once in a groups lifetime. The measuring stick so to speak for all their other endeavors to be compared to. Doubelieve is the suicidal fan favorite from Natas that defacates on all rap rules, lyrical boundaries, religion and benevolence while strikingly surging past the line in the sand drawn by the mid 90's hip hop community. Competitive microphone sessions feature TNT, Mastamind and Esham harnessing every ounce of angst and evil imagineable into death defying rhyme schemes, chants and hooks that translate into the music equivalent of hell on earth. Reel Life at its finest.

NATAS "CLOSED CASKET"
1997

ALBUM NOTES:   Multikillionaire "The Devils Contract" is a prime example of the superior creativity and enhanced musical dexterity that seperates Natas from your average rap group or hip hop ensemble. This project is an upredictable smorgasbord of crafty Bruce Wayne era beatmaking and outstanding concepts/raps from Esham and Mastamind. While TNT's quality contributions don't go unnoticed, his presence is heard less than usual but is made up for by appearances from extended fam like Moebadis, Drunken Master and the Rock Bottom Collective. Esham went in another direction with the conceptual Bruce Wayne album so for the most wicket of suicidalists who like their music hardcore, The Devils Contract provided a worthy follow up to Doubelievengod and the perfect precursor to their next masterpiece, WWW.COM.

NATAS "WWW.COM"
1999

ALBUM NOTES:    WWW.COM is what happens when you give Esham access to a half million dollar recording studio and a rock band. If there is any release from Natas that truly had the opportunity to do some damage in the mainstream, WWW.COM is that record. The tracks burst with potent, high energy flows and hyperbole from a Natas crew who all step up with Superbowl intensity and direction. The songs bleed into one another with amazing consistency and rhythm while a slamming variety of unique noises, crazy drums and live guitars accentuate some of the best production work of Eshams career.

Coincidentally, it also features some of the best rhymes from TNT, E and Mastamind as each member shined individually and gelled with each other as a whole. WWW.COM was one of 1999's premiere releases of any genre and earned a number of accolades and good press on its way to opening up doors for the group including stints on the Tatoo the Earth and Warped Tour festivals.

NATAS "GODLIKE"
2001

ALBUM NOTES:    Throughout the 90's, Natas had a brilliant run of 5 albums in about 8 years that truly cemented their legendary cult status in the indie hip hop world. By 2001, Natas had seen plenty of highs including their first nationwide tour and some promising exposure from a number of influential media outlets. Enter Godlike. Before the release, Overcore was reeling as an indie label due to their aggressive release schedule and investment into artists outside the RLP family. As those releases did not receive the radio promotion, marketing and advertising necessary to explode, finances ran thin leaving Esham and Natas in a precarious position for the first time since landing their deal in 1998.

By the time Godlike dropped, Overcore had folded entirely prompting this album to drop through an entirely different label and distributor. The album featured a drastically different sound for the group and the artwork for the project left fans scratching their head. What fell through the cracks was a gifted albeit slightly odd album that would foreshadow the direction commercial hip hop would take in years to come. TNT in particular stepped up with ferocity and a renewed vigor that truly helped elevate this release to a higher platform. Despite the change in sound, Eshams zany beats reign supreme and Mastaminds consistency cannot be stopped. "SIT BACK, RELAX, INHALE THE ANTHRAX"

NATAS "N OF THA WORLD"
2006

ALBUM NOTES:    N of tha World is the most recent release from Natas and it served as a defining chapter in the 15+ year history of the group. Internal strife led to complications with Mastaminds participation in the project so in turn, the majority of the record was handled exclusively by Esham and TNT. From a sonic perspective, N of tha World is a culmination of sorts paying homage to time honored Natas traditions including the fusion of live rock/funk/punk to rhyme over but on top of that, Esham also utilized more soulful backdrops which go a long way in differentiating the sound from not only their previous efforts, but most other hip hop records out at the time as well. Esham and TNT flow back and forth with considerable swagger and the masterful rhymes about life flow with honesty, vengeance, disdain and regret. A melancholy release from a cloudy time in their career. In 2008, Natas has officially reassembled and will be kicking down doors worldwide with a new project and DVD.
